Key Responsibilities (as required by our clients)

As a Registered Nurse placed by Britannia, you will be expected to seamlessly integrate into our clients’ teams and deliver care to the following standards:

  • Patient Care: Deliver high-quality, person-centred care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, wound care, and supporting patients with daily activities in line with NMC guidelines.
  • Assessment & Documentation: Conduct thorough patient assessments using clinical tools such as NEWS2, and maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with client policies.
  • Care Planning: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (MDT) to develop, implement, and review individualised care plans.
  • Patient & Family Support: Provide clear communication and education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge arrangements.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
  • Emergency Response: Respond calmly and competently to clinical emergencies, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Professional Standards: Uphold the NMC Code of Conduct, maintaining confidentiality, dignity, and respect in all interactions.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for roles through Britannia candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Registration: Active registration as a Registered Nurse (Adult, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, or Paediatric) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) – no restrictions or conditions.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 months of post-registration experience in a UK clinical setting (hospital, community, or care home).
  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology; proficiency in medication administration.
  • Compliance: Willingness to undergo all pre-employment checks, including DBS clearance, occupational health clearance, and provision of employment references.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organisational skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to new environments and teams.
  • Right to Work: Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions (where applicable).
Desirable (depending on client requirements):
  • Completed NMC revalidation.
  • Up-to-date mandatory training (Basic Life Support, Safeguarding Adults/Children, etc.).
  • Experience with electronic patient record (EPR) systems.
  • Specialisms such as A&E, ITU, Theatre, Community, or Care Home experience.
