This course will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the healthcare and social care sector. The first year (Foundation Year) will help you develop academic skills and give you a basic understanding of the key issues in health and social care.

Over the next three years, you will learn about the different aspects of healthcare management, behavioural influences and strategies for improving healthcare quality. You will learn how to effectively manage health and welfare systems and how to make a positive contribution to social change.

The course is based on real-world experience, which will help you gain relevant skills. Our experienced teachers will provide you with real-world experience and insight into different areas of health and social care.

At the end of this course, you will be qualified in healthcare management and will be able to build a successful career in the health and social care sector.

The assessment strategy for this course will help students acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies required for health and social work. It has been designed to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the students’ learning experience by considering various elements. Students will be assessed through academic writing, reports, presentations, debates and small group projects. Through real-life simulated examinations, students will learn to analyze, think critically and construct structured arguments. Through research and evidence-based writing, students will develop professional decision-making, problem-solving and recommendations for future development. Through participation in group projects, students will develop collaborative working skills. Through presentations and debates, they will develop skills as well as the ability to present convincing arguments.

For applicants aged 18+:

  • A Level 3 qualification (equivalent to 60 credits or 80 UCAS tariff points)
  • A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4/C (including English) or equivalent
  • Listening, speaking and writing skills will be assessed through an interview.

 

For applicants aged 21+:

  • Even if you do not meet the standard entry requirements, you may apply if you can demonstrate an interest and commitment to the subject and have relevant academic, professional or technical experience.
