The BSc (Hons) Project Management with Foundation Year course is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in project management. It will prepare you to become a skilled project planner, risk manager, accountant and project manager. In addition to acquiring business and management skills, you will gain the knowledge to work effectively in a variety of industries.
In the first year, you will develop a foundation of employability and academic skills, which are essential for future success. At this stage, you will acquire the fundamentals of project management, management and leadership theories, academic and professional skills. Particular emphasis will be placed on developing time management, critical thinking, problem solving and effective communication skills.
In the following year, you will learn project management theory, the project life cycle, business and management principles, statistics, data analysis and decision-making techniques. In addition, you will learn the use of project management software tools.
At Level 5, you will gain in-depth knowledge of the core project management skills, which include quality and performance management, project planning and control and efficient, effective and sustainable project management. In addition, you will develop research skills in project management.
In the final year of the course, you will learn about advanced topics such as risk management, global project management and project management for innovation and change. These modules will make you confident in change management and provide you with international project management skills. In the final stage of the course, you will complete a real project using project management skills.
